	February 1st, Cheryl and I became members of 1st Baptist Church of Shepherd. Pastor Chestor warmly welcomed us to the church. Pastor and I have been working on similar paths of Christian Ministry for over 5 years and we have decided to provide some of the ministry services of "The Disciples" under FBC Shepherd. A position of "Prayer Partners Ministry Coordinator" was offered to me. This will allow me continue to provide services to expand the kngdom of God by daily walking with Jesus Christ in ALL things. In addition to the responsabilities of the position I will be working under a senior pastor will to mentor me. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to serve Jesus Christ along with the members of FBC Shepherd. Thank you to ALL that have worked with me over the past 10 years. 	Prayer Ministry started in 2021 as we began offering public prayer in restaurants. Restaurants included Golden Corral and Incredible Pizza in Conroe. This ministry has over the years turned into providing Prayer Booths at public events in Conroe, Willis, New Waverly, .Livingston, and Shepherd. The Prayer Ministry currently offers a Prayer Booth at church events in the Shepherd and Livingston areas. The FBC church events include Fall Festivals, food banks distribution, and other public events. The ministry offers Prayer Booths at local food banks. Currently serving First Baptist Church of Shepherd weekly in Shepherd and Rainbow Baptist Church twice per momth in Rainbow, Texas. We provide prayer and crosses as available. A phrase we hear often, "We always need prayer." 	Nursing Home Ministry expands to supporting nursing homes in Shepherd and Livingston areas. Providing Saturday and Sunday worship services with communion, prayer & praise services, Bible study's, Christian counseling and other activities. Saturday and Sunday Worship services includes 30 minutes of gospel music (Christian Gospel hymns) before and during communion, a 10-15 minute sermon by visiting Pastor, group and individual prayer. Holy communion offered to any baptized Christians of patients, staff, and family members visiting. Holy communion and individual prayer also offered to patients confined to their rooms. Additional prayers and Christian Counseling offered on an as need basis to patients, family’s and staff during the week on as needed basis. The Nursing Home Ministry now serves patients, family’s, and supporting staff at locations in Shepherd and Livingston. Weekly visitations are available upon request, call for scheduling at 936-200-4745.

	Yard Cross Ministry has started distribution of crosses to Christians and churches in Shepherd, Livingston and surrounding areas. The crosses are constructed and donated by Trinity Baptist Church in Lufkin. Started distribution from Livingston April 12, 2024. Trinity Baptist Church stopped providing crosses in January 2025. FBC Shepherd is looking to start construction and distribution in the near future. Starting to constructing our crosses from scratch requires a small list of things before starting. First, FBC needs 1000 square foot barn or building to work from and store the crosss as they are built. Second, we need equipment to build the crosses with. We have already received donations of air compressor, table saw, scroll saw, tables & chairs, and various hand tools. We are looking for a air staple gun. Third, we are looing for materials to build the crosses with. This can be donated or we can buy with cash donations. Fourth, FBC needs volunteers to build and distribute the crosses. The crosses serve as a tool to identify Christian homes, businesses and to evangelize to people who are not saved. We carry a good supply with us at all times and are honked at while driving and pulled over for a cross. It becomes a GREAT opportunity to share the gospel and minister to God's people.
	You can become a volunteer and walk with Jesus with other Christians helping others. Join others during nursing home visits, distributing yard crossses, or just become a prayer partner.
